RegisterMatrix optics, matrix of beam, ABCD lawMatrix of beam is a matrix of size 2 x 2, which describes changes of Gaussian beam parameters when passing through an optical element. If matrix is multiplied (from the right-hand side) by a column vector, which contains beam parameters at the input of an optical element, we obtain a column vector of beam parameters at its output. The relation is called ABCD law. Due to the matrix nature of above-described operations, we speak about matrix optics. Back
