Waveguide

The term waveguide denotes a hollow metallic tube, which transversal dimensions are comparable to the wavelength. Wave propagation in a waveguide can be interpreted as sequential reflections from the walls of the waveguide. In the transversal directions, a standing wave appears (in different points of the cross-section, different amplitudes of field intensities can be measured).
